In this video show a workflow called Skeleton Modeling, to create a Sheet Metal Manifold using Autodesk Inventor. Skeleton Modeling is a very powerfull way to create assemblies in Autodesk Inventor. You can start very simple in a single Autodesk Inventor Part, with just a couple of sketches and surfaces.
This first part will control the final Autodesk Inventor Assembly parametric. With this technique there are no assembly constraints needed and the parts created from the first 'reference' Part are very stable and will accept almost every parametric change made to the reference part. This makes it a great workflow for Sheet Metal modeling in Autodesk Inventor.
In this workflow, three Autodesk Inventor Sheet Metal parts are created, but the only Autodesk Inventor Sheet Metal features that are used are Rip and Create Flat Pattern. This shows that Autodesk Inventor Sheet Metal Parts can be created using surface modeling and all Autodesk Inventor Part features
The manifold shown in this video can be changed to almost any dimension. If you have any questions, let me know in a comment.
