This video shows a work-in-progress configurator that will create any possible variation of a sheet metal stairway. It is designed to only create OSHA spec stairways, and creates from one to nine treads at variable widths. The rise and run change automatically to match the configuration. The completed configurator automatically creates drawings, as well as a .step file version of the model. This little configurator will likely save thousands of hours of design/estimating time as well as rework --the design is always correct. This not only saves money, but frees up design resources for other work.
